  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 cup bell peppers, chopped
  • ½ cup onions, chopped
  • ½ cup olives, sliced
  • 1 large egg, beaten for egg wash
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Marinara sauce for serving

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  • Layer the mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, and olives evenly over the dough.
  • Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder over the toppings.
  • Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other to form a log shape.
  • Pinch the edges to seal.
  • Place the rolled stromboli on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve with marinara sauce.

Notes

Feel free to mix and match fillings to suit your taste. Try adding cooked sausage, mushrooms, or spinach for extra flavor. Make sure your fillings are not too watery to avoid soggy dough. Brush the dough with olive oil before adding toppings for extra flavor and a nice crust. For a vegetarian version, exclude the meats and add more veggies like zucchini, artichokes, or spinach.
