Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 4 medium potatoes (diced)
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme) for seasoning

Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Season the steak with salt and pepper and add it to the skillet. Sear on both sides until browned.
  • Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the diced potatoes, sliced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the potatoes are tender and golden, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Slice the steak and return it to the skillet, mixing it with the potatoes and onions.
  • Cook everything together for an additional 5 minutes to heat through and let the flavors meld.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the steak for a few hours before cooking. Experiment with different vegetables, like bell peppers or carrots, for variety. If you like it spicy, add a pinch of red pepper flakes when cooking the potatoes. Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. To reheat, warm in a skillet or microwave until heated through. Freezing is possible but best enjoyed fresh.
