Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces Use boneless, skinless chicken for best results.
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce for a gluten-free option.
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Marinade chicken in this mixture for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the marinated chicken. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Add it to the chicken along with the sesame seeds. Stir well and cook until the sauce thickens.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade. This dish can also be served over rice or with stir-fried vegetables.
