Ingredients
  

Custard

  • 3 large large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt

French Toast

  • 12 pieces Hawaiian rolls, split in half
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • maple syrup (for serving)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • fresh berries (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and salt until smooth.
  • Dip each roll half into the custard mixture for 10–15 seconds, ensuring they’re well-coated.

Cooking

  • In a skillet, pan-fry the soaked rolls in butter over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side until they are golden brown.

Serving

  • Plate the French toast and top with maple syrup, a dusting of powdered sugar, and fresh berries.

Notes

Serve warm, drizzled with syrup and dusted with powdered sugar. Fresh berries add a splash of color and flavor. Can be paired with crispy bacon or sausage. Add whipped cream for an extra treat. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a toaster or skillet.
