Ingredients
  

For the marinade

  • 1 cup Soy sauce
  • ¼ cup Sake Can be substituted with white wine or chicken broth
  • ¼ cup Mirin
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper

Main ingredients

  • 1 pound Chicken breast Cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 stalks Green onions Chopped, for garnish
  • 8 pieces Bamboo skewers Soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sake, mirin, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Grilling

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto bamboo skewers.
  • Grill the skewers for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve warm.

Notes

These chicken bites can be served with steamed rice, a fresh salad, or grilled vegetables. Pair with dipping sauces like teriyaki or spicy mayo.
