  • ½ cup milk, warmed Warm, not hot, for activating yeast.
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 large egg

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries If using frozen, thaw and drain.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Powdered sugar (for icing, optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Add the melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Filling and Rolling

  • In another bowl, combine raspberries and cornstarch. Mash slightly to create a thick filling.
  • Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread the raspberry mixture evenly over the dough.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  • Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
