Ingredients
  

Brownie Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted, but not too hot.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour.
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Use high-quality for the best flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup Irish stout Can be substituted with non-alcoholic stout or coffee.

Frosting Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese Softened.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar Add more for thicker frosting.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For frosting.
  • Green food coloring Optional for festive appearance.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Stir in the eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Mix in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined.
  • Add the Irish stout and mix until smooth.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Frosting

  • While the brownies are baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • If desired, add green food coloring to the frosting.
  • Once the brownies are completely cooled, frost them with the cream cheese frosting.

Serving

  • Cut into squares and serve for a festive treat!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. For freezing, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and place in an airtight container.
