  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced Any variety of mushrooms can be used.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For sautéing.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adds flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • a squeeze of lemon juice Optional for added flavor.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes until they're browned.
  • Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, and add a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.

Notes

This versatile dish can be paired with grilled chicken or fish, or enjoyed on its own. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
