  • 1 large Onion (diced)
  • 1 large Bell pepper (thinly sliced)
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese.

For the Sandwich

  • 4 rolls Hoagie rolls Substitute with crusty bread if needed.
  • 2 tbsp Butter For sautéing.
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) For garlic butter on the rolls.

Preparation

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter.
  • Add the diced onions and sliced bell peppers, cooking until softened.

Cooking

  • Add the sliced ribeye steak to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through.
  • Toast the hoagie rolls with garlic butter until golden.
  • Layer the cooked steak, onions, and peppers on the hoagie rolls and top with provolone cheese.
  • Place under a broiler until the cheese melts, then serve hot.

Notes

Leftover sandwiches can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, wrap the sandwich in foil and warm it in the oven to keep the bread crispy. You can add mushrooms or jalapeños for an extra kick. For a healthier option, consider using whole-grain rolls or lean cuts of meat.
