Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 large baking potato Russet potatoes are ideal for baking.
  • 1 cup cooked steak, diced Leftover steak works perfectly.
  • ½ cup shredded cheese Cheddar or your choice of cheese.
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup green onions, chopped
  • salt To taste
  • pepper To taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For rubbing the potato

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Scrub the potato and prick it with a fork. Rub it with olive oil and season with salt.

Baking

  • Place the potato directly on the oven rack and bake for about 45-60 minutes, or until tender.

Completion

  • While the potato is baking, prepare the steak and toppings.
  • Once the potato is done, let it cool slightly, then cut it open and fluff the inside with a fork.
  • Top with diced steak, shredded cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions.
  • Season with pepper and serve hot.

Notes

For an extra kick, add some diced jalapeños or hot sauce on top. Experiment with different cheeses like pepper jack or gouda for a unique twist. If you're in a rush, microwave the potato instead of baking it, though the texture won’t be as fluffy.
