  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef to reduce excess fat.
  • 4 cups cooked rice Cooked rice can be stored separately.
  • ΒΌ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Garnishes

  • Green onions, sliced For garnish.
  • Sesame seeds For garnish.
  • Vegetables (such as bell peppers or broccoli, optional) Feel free to add more vegetables for extra flavor and nutrition.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce over the cooked beef and stir to combine.
  • Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Serve the beef mixture over cooked rice.
  • Top with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and any additional vegetables, if using. Enjoy!

Notes

To store leftovers, place the beef mixture in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of water to keep it moist. For a low-carb option, substitute rice with cauliflower rice. You can also use other proteins, like chicken or turkey.
