Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings Fresh or thawed if previously frozen
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper Optional, adjust to taste
  • Oil for frying For deep frying
  • Fresh herbs For garnish, optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oil in a deep fryer or a deep pot to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
  • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and add them to the spice mixture. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Fry the wings in batches, cooking for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the wings and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired. Pair with ranch or blue cheese dressing and enjoy with celery and carrot sticks.

Notes

Ensure the wings are properly dried before applying the spice mixture to help achieve maximum crispiness. Fry in small batches to maintain the oil's temperature. Feel free to add more cayenne for extra heat.
