  • 2 pieces eggs beaten

  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for frying

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Butterfly the chicken breasts and season them with salt and pepper.
  • Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each chicken breast.
  • Fold the chicken over to enclose the filling.
  • Dredge each piece in flour, dip it in beaten eggs, and coat it with breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, and brown the chicken on both sides.
  • Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  • Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in herbs or spices before stuffing and cooking. If you want a healthier option, use whole wheat breadcrumbs or skip the frying step and bake the chicken right away. Experiment with different types of cheese or add some spinach for a twist. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
