  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped pickles (for garnish)
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Preparation

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  • Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until onion is translucent.

Cooking

  • Stir in diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add the cooked pasta and cheese to the skillet, stirring until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with pickles and chopped green onions.

Notes

Feel free to use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option. Add your favorite burger toppings, like bacon or sautéed mushrooms, for extra flavor. For a more veggie-friendly version, swap out some beef for finely chopped mushrooms or add in your favorite vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
