Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 2 fillets Chilean sea bass
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Cooking

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the skillet.
  • Season the sea bass fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Place the fillets in the hot skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  • In the last minute of cooking, add the minced garlic and remaining butter to the skillet, basting the fillets with the melted butter and garlic.
  • Once cooked, remove from the heat and let rest for a minute.
  • Serve garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Fresh garlic and parsley make a significant difference. Don’t skip the resting step after cooking; this allows the juices to redistribute, keeping your fish moist. Feel free to add a splash of white wine to the skillet for extra flavor.
