For the banana mixture

  • 4 pieces ripe bananas, sliced Ensure bananas are ripe for best flavor
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the cobbler batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 piece egg

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced bananas, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Cook until the bananas are soft.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.

Baking

  • Spread the banana mixture in a baking dish.
  • Pour the cobbler batter over the bananas.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

Serving

  • Serve warm with ice cream if desired.

Notes

This cobbler is best served warm. Can be topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
